Novartis France is an internationally renowned pharmaceutical company, specializing in the research, development and commercialization of innovative medicines. As part of our growing activities, we are looking for a Head FRA on a permanent contract for our headquarters in Rueil-Malmaison (92). As the Head FRA you will lead the FRA function within an important country across divisions and will be accountable for the end-to-end service delivery to all Novartis divisions.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the execution of regional/global accounting strategies and standards for your area of the organization, while overseeing the management and development of teams of experienced FRA professionals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial reporting processes and systems across the Region, including tax, inventory, corporate control, payment, and purchasing data, and manage large-scale business process change initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of risk management processes (e.g., early identification of potential impairment issues or P&L impacts of changes in accounting standards) and ensure the existence and use of adequate risk management tools.
  • Lead the business in managing FRA performance, monitor results against set objectives, and take corrective measures when required.
  • Manage the preparation and communications related to external and internal audit meetings to ensure smooth and efficient interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with daily accounting procedures, develop and support standardized reporting processes, and deliver focused analysis of financial information (monthly, quarterly, and annual data) according to business needs.
  • Manage the correct and timely implementation of Financial, Reporting, and Accounting processes, standards, and policies (e.g., Tax policies, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, and Novartis Financial Control Manual (NFCM)) and ensure adherence/compliance.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential criteria:

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Finance
  • Strong experience in FRA topics within a large multinational corporation and/or a Big 4 firm, with knowledge of FRA methods and overall tax regulations
  • Proven capabilities in Financial & Data Analysis – Technically Savvy
  • Solid experience in Finance (Accounting / Controlling / Business Planning & Analysis)
  • Fluency in French and English
